Private Spirits Tasting FAQ — Everything You Need to Know | The Liquor Connoisseur®

Everything you want to know about booking a private spirits tasting with Crystal and Roger of The Liquor Connoisseur® — answered directly.

What happens at a private spirits tasting with The Liquor Connoisseur®?

Crystal and Roger guide your group through 4-5 curated spirits using the same methodology from the podcast — nosing technique, flavor identification, production context, and brand story. Every guest gets a tasting kit. Crystal and Roger bring everything. You just show up.

How much does a private spirits tasting cost?

Corporate tastings start at $1,500. In-home private tastings start at $500. Virtual tastings available nationwide starting at $500. Contact Crystal and Roger at contact@theliquorconnoisseur.com to discuss your group size and spirit preferences.

What spirits can be featured at a TLC tasting?

Bourbon, rye whiskey, Tennessee whiskey, tequila, mezcal, cognac, Armagnac, brandy, Scotch, Irish whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, and craft spirits. Tastings can be themed around a single category, a comparison of categories, a Black-owned spirits experience, or Oklahoma and Texas craft distilleries.

Can guests who don't drink alcohol participate?

Yes. A non-alcoholic tasting option is available for every guest at every tasting. Nobody sits out. The education and experience is designed to be inclusive — Crystal and Roger want everyone to participate in the conversation about what's in the glass.

How far in advance should I book?

For corporate events and large groups, 3-4 weeks in advance is ideal. For smaller in-home tastings, 1-2 weeks is generally sufficient. Holiday season (November-December) books fastest — reach out early for Father's Day, holiday parties, and year-end corporate events.

Where do you serve — what areas do you cover?

In-person tastings currently serve Oklahoma City, Edmond, Yukon, Mustang, Moore, Norman, Tulsa, and surrounding areas. Virtual tastings are available for any group in the United States. Corporate travel for large events available — contact for details.

What makes a TLC tasting different from other wine and spirits events?

Crystal and Roger have reviewed 136+ spirits on The Liquor Connoisseur® podcast. They've interviewed founders from Uncle Nearest, Sorel Liqueur, Black Momma Vodka, Du Nord Social Spirits, and Kilinga Bacanora. They've been inside Hochatown Distilling, Woodworks Distilling, and Bardstown Bourbon Company. That depth of knowledge and genuine passion comes with every tasting — it's not a catered event, it's an education experience led by people who have spent years building this expertise.
