Welcome to The Liquor Connoisseur Blog — the written companion to our podcast and the home base for our ongoing spirits education mission. Whether you found us through an episode, a Google search, or a friend who wouldn't stop talking about a bottle we reviewed, we're glad you're here.

Who We Are

Crystal and Roger are OKC-based spirit enthusiasts, educators, and the hosts of The Liquor Connoisseur Podcast. Since launching in 2023, we've published over 127 episodes covering everything from Black-owned craft distilleries to rare aged expressions, founder interviews, tasting events, and deep dives into the global spirits industry. We're based in Oklahoma City and serve the OKC, Tulsa, and surrounding metro areas through private in-home tastings — and the entire country through virtual tasting experiences.

Our Tasting Philosophy

Drink to remember, not to forget. That's not just a tagline — it's how we approach every bottle we open. We believe that understanding what you're drinking makes the experience richer. We taste with intention: neat first, Glencairn glass in hand, before anything else. We nose before we sip. We talk about the distillery, the mash bill, the aging, the region. We take notes. We disagree sometimes. And we always tell you exactly what we think.

🔍 Our Editorial Independence Policy

The Liquor Connoisseur has no paid brand partnerships, no sponsored reviews, and no brand-controlled content. Every bottle we review was either purchased by us with our own money or gifted to us by a brand for review purposes — and gifted bottles receive the same honest assessment as purchased ones. We are never paid to say something positive about a product. If we don't like something, we say so. Our reviews are always our own opinions, informed by our own palates and our commitment to giving you accurate, useful information.
